Wendy’s Copycat Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 29 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 29 oz. can kidney beans, with liquid
  • 29 oz. can pinto beans, with liquid
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup green chilis, diced
  • 1/4 cup celery, diced
  • 3 medium tomato, chopped
  • 2 tsp. cumin powder
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off the fat.
  2. Using a fork, crumble the cooked beef into pea-sized pieces.
  3. In a large pot combine the beef and all remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat.
  4. Continue cooking for 2 – 3 hours, stirring every 15 minutes
