When you turn off Mayfield Estate Drive and pass through the gate, you get your first view of the home and the sea beyond. The property sits well off the road, surrounded by mature mango and palm trees that give it a secluded feel.

Stepping inside, you are greeted immediately by views through glass doors out to the pool and the Caribbean Sea. The living area is bright and spacious: to the left sit the primary bedroom and bath, to the right are two guest bedrooms and a second bath, and straight ahead lie the dining room and kitchen. Passing through the well-appointed kitchen brings you to a second access point for the covered patio and expansive pool deck. Outside the dining area, a short flight of stairs leads down to the laundry room beneath the deck.

The entire home is clean and well maintained. While we did not use additional housekeeping during our stay, the option is readily available. Island trade winds keep the air moving, but having quiet, efficient air conditioning—especially at night—was a welcome comfort.

The patio’s propane grill saw heavy use during our stay, making it easy to cook without heating up the kitchen.

As lovely as the interior is, the outdoor space is the true highlight. From the pool, you have an unobstructed 180-degree view of the Caribbean, stretching north toward Woodland Beach and south toward Lime Kiln Beach and the Old Road Bluff. An occasional passing sailboat or yacht only enhances the setting, and the pool itself offers refreshing relief after hours in the sun.

For a villa of this size and convenience, the value is outstanding. It sits just a 5-to-10-minute drive from local favorites like The Attic, Andrea’s Take Away, Vue Pointe, Olveston House and Isles Bay Beach Bar.

We had zero issues throughout our two-week stay. We would return to Villa Kurtena in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to friends and family.
