Unfortunately, the Hilltop Coffee House is now closed
Perched on a hill overlooking Cudjoehead and the neighboring islands of Redonda and Nevis, the coffee house is the spot for Sunday morning waffles and coffee while browsing the Air Studios collection. Listen to some historical stories from the founder David Lea and author wife Clover.

The clock face:
One of the four clock faces from the War Memorial that sat in the center of the capital of Plymouth. The biggest meetings were held there and well known visitors spoke in its shadow. Queen Elizabeth addressed the population in 1963 and Marcus Garvey in 1972. It was buried by the volcano in 1997, but we were able to salvage this piece of our history.
Sir George Martin opened Air Studios in 1979 offering tranquility and top of the line technology to allow artists to concentrate on one thing; making music. Artists such as the Police, the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Buffet, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and many more recorded in Montserrat. Jimmy Buffet’s “Volcano” was written specifically about the Soufrière Hills volcano and many other songs from other artists can be attributed to their time on Montserrat. A true recorded history of Air Studios can be viewed in the documentary Under the Volcano, available on many streaming services.
