Kapalua Beach holds a special place for us as it is the location of our small wedding in 2012.  The beach is one of the most popular beaches to get married on in Maui.  If your intent is such, note that all beaches in Hawaii are public therefore many other couples may be doing the exact same thing.  You do not need a permit to use the beach for a small ceremony.

After viewing the sunset, take a short walk up the path to Merriman’s for a 5-star meal or a few drinks.  The bar and tables have a view down the cliff onto Kapalua Beach and out to the pacific.
