If you live in the area and have never attended the Northern Illinois Airshow, formerly Wings Over Waukegan, you really should try it; it is a great event for the family.  The airshow runs two days (each day has the same performers though) with helicopter rides, food vendors and airplane walkarounds.

The airshow previously took place every year at the Waukegan National Airport, however coordinators are now reporting that the airshow will be every other year, starting again in 2025.
