These photographs were recently converted from slides from a 1991 rafting trip down the Colorado River. The 5-day trip started at Lee’s Ferry and ended 89 miles later at the Bright Angel trail in Grand Canyon National Park.  The hike from the rivers edge to the El Tovar Hotel on the southern rim takes about 5 hours and is a continuous, steep climb with an elevation change of 4,600 feet.
