Bottomless Ghaut Beach, also known locally as “New Beach” was formed following the eruption in 1995.  While not a great beach for swimming due to the currents, the beach is the longest stretch of uninterrupted black sand on the island.

The beach is accessible via a short hike and rocky climb from Blake’s Road, just north of Jack Boy Hill in Saint George’s Parish.
